At the Fire Crab, we give you options. So if you want Shrimp & Mussels, that's what you'll get. Yes, mix it up and get what you want. And then pick what sauce you'd like, like Lemon Pepper, Cajun, Garlic Butter, or the the combination of all three which is our Fire Sauce. And then, make sure to get some bread while you're at it to sop up all the sauce afterwards. Get the Garlic Bread if you want even more flavor. See? We're all about options here.
Fire Crab's blog
We are way too familiar with this look. Food coma is about to kick in. All the food and sauce is just about gone. And he's still got a piece of bread in hand. He's blissfully full, but he's got to make the most out of this last piece of bread. How best can he sop up the rest of this sauce with this last piece of bread? Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words and we can go on and on about this one. But we'll leave it at that. And be sure to get some bread or garlic bread so you can end up with the same look as this guy.
We've got a lot of great appetizers to get you started at the Fire Crab! One that has always been on our menu is our Spicy Garlic Edamame. We know it's not a traditional Cajun appetizer but it does include two elements that we particularly favor in our food: spice and garlic! You can always order it without the spice but it wouldn't be as fun to eat. There's plenty of flavor and you'll be proudly eating your veggies, something you can brag about to your mom (no matter how old you are ;-)).
Do you like legs? We thought so. Don't these King Crab Legs look sexy and delicious? You can get them by the pound or get our Crab Legs Combo which includes a pound of King Crab Legs and a pound of Snow Crab Legs. Yep, legs for days. We'll even give you some scissors to help you take off the shells. Once you get to the meat of the legs, dip them in the Cajun sauce and enjoy. Yeah, that's way better than just dipping them in butter. Yeah, we're a little biased.
We love our regulars! This is a picture of Eric and his family celebrating his graduation at the Fire Crab. We couldn't be any more proud or honored to have been able to share this occasion with him and his family and look forward to spending more time with them in the future. They were able to enjoy the somewhat private section of our restaurant where they could share great conversation and great food with one another. Cheers to you, Eric, on your graduation! Thank you for the continued support.
At the Fire Crab, we always have at least 4 raw types of oysters in stock. This week, we have Kumamoto, Kumiai, Blue Point, and Calm Cove. We shuck them fresh to order every time and we always check to ensure that we only serve you fresh ones. If there's even a remote possibility that the oyster is bad, we will toss it. If you don't have a preference out of the 4 choices, you can always get the sampler, where you will have 3 freshly shucked oysters of every type. It's a good way to figure out what you prefer.
At the Fire Crab, we currently have 4 different types of wings to choose from. There's Cajun, Fish Sauce, Lemon Pepper, and the pictured, Honey BBQ. If you have a bit more of a sweet tooth, then this is the type of wings you should order. We are in the process of coming up with at least a few other flavors so if you have any suggestions, please let us know! We'd love to hear from you. The wings are $6.95 per order of 5, or $12.95 per order of 10. That's a pretty good deal. Get a dozen of each type so you can see the drastic differences between their flavors.
Congrats to all the grads! Come on by and celebrate your graduation party with us! We are large-party-friendly so bring all your friends and fam bam! We can accommodate them all! Our atmosphere is relaxed and casual so it's perfect to host your graduation party here. No need to go to a stuffy restaurant to celebrate. Your grad deserves to kick back and have a good time in a relaxed environment.
You asked for it and we're giving it to you! Peeled Shrimp is now on the menu! And these aren't your dinky little wimpy shrimps that most other restaurants give you. These are good sized shrimps for those customers who don't like peeling shrimp. You know who you are. We know you're not lazy. You just don't want your hands to get too dirty. We get it. These shrimps are peeled and deveined so all you have to do is pick them up by their takes and bite them off. So what else would you like us to add to make your lives easier?
Okay, maybe it's not the best appetizer in the whole word but in our world, it sure is! Our Cajun Garlic Fries is so popular, our customers automatically order it as soon as they sit down. Well, that and an ice cold beer. If you haven't tried it out you should. It's got all kinds of cajun yumminess happening all over it, with garlic, parsley, and our blend of cajun spices. And don't forget, we also have 6 more types of fries to choose from, in case you ever could get tired of our cajun garlic fries. Yeah, like that would ever happen.
You really don't have to make that decision since you can get both at the Fire Crab. You can get them in separate orders or together in the same combo. It's your choice! It's nice to keep them separate if members of your party like different spice levels or if they prefer a different flavor since we have a few to choose from: Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, or Fire Sauce (combination of all 3 flavors). We bring all of our combos out in bags and then dump into metal bowls because we're classy like that. And it sucks when you get your hands all dirty when reaching into the bags.
We're always bragging about our Cajun Garlic Noodles and they are pretty awesome. But did you know that you can always get Garlic Noodles without all the Cajun spices? Yep, our Garlic Noodles is a pretty popular dish you can get plain, as shown, or loaded with sausages, shrimp, clams, and/or mussels. Yep, you can have all 4 toppings at the same time if you'd like. Our Garlic Noodles is great for kids or wimpy adults who can't handle the spice. Yeah, sorry, we had to call out those adults because it's funny.
Free Mimosas for all Moms on Sunday for Mother's Day, 2018! It's the weekend when we finally show our appreciation for all the sacrifice, dedication, and love our Moms have for us. If your Mom is the type who likes to get her hands dirty (and not have to clean up afterwards), you should seriously consider bringing her and the entire family in for Mother's Day. Get multiple combos and make everyone happy! But especially, Mom. Happy Mother's Day, everyone!
¡Feliz Día de las Madres! May 10, 2018 is Mexican Mother's Day so we wanted to take a moment to thank all the madres out there for holding it down. This Sunday, May 13th, is the regular Mother's Day and we will be giving out free Momosas (our version of mimosas) to all mommies who come in to dine with us. Take your mom out for some cajun goodness and we'll take care of her with a free mimosa. If she wants more, we'll give her more. Afterall, it's her day. Time to treat that lady right! Oh, and Momosas go well with our always fresh oysters and oyster shooters. Get a dozen of your favorite or get a sampler. Either way, you can't go wrong! Come on in this Sunday for Mother's Day!
Have you tried our ultimate Oyster Shooters? If not, you should! We take a fresh oyster from whatever we have in stock, shuck the crap out of it, top it with masago, green onions, ponzu, a secret sauce, and a quail egg. It comes with a shot of sake. It's your choice whether to take the shot before or after but you should really take it with the oyster shooter. It's the best oyster shooter around! And you know, you can't order just one.
On the 5th of May this year, come on in and celebrate with us. We know it's not Mexican Independence Day. It's a holiday celebrating the Mexican army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. But still, that shouldn't stop us from celebrating as everyone else will be, too, right? Swing on in and have a few beers with us.
So we were thinking about using another term rather than, "orgy," but "assembly" or "congregation" didn't quite have the zest we were looking for to title this seafood combo. Orgy hits the spot. This orgy consists of our staple seafood: crawfish, shrimp, clams, and mussels all tossed in a garlic-filled cajun sauce. Hopefully, using this term won't detract our followers from what is important here: our seafood combo. If you want to get kinky with our combos, that's strictly up to you. But if you do, try to pick one of the booths in the back corner so we don't have to see it.
We've recently updated our menu and it now includes a 300 ml bottle of Kikusui! Kikusui is probably one of the most popular sakes out there right now. It is crisp, clean, and bright with slight hints of citrus and persimmons. It's a small bottle so you can share it or drink it all by yourself. It goes great with just about everything on our menu such as our Baked Oysters, Cajun Garlic Noodles, and our Cajun Seafood Combos. It's light and refreshing, especially if you're looking for an alternative from beer.
Smoke a bowl and roll on through! Bring some with you and share! We don't care. We've got a pretty big area in front of our restaurant for you to smoke. Just don't be so obvious about it. What's even better is that you get to eat with your hands and get all dirty. And, of course, our seafood combo deal right now makes it even sweeter. Just make sure you got a reliable ride home afterwards. We're located on Garden Grove Boulevard, a couple of blocks east of Beach Boulevard.
Come on in for Fire Crab-chella! Yep, our Dungeness Crabs have just come back from partying at Coachella all weekend so now we're gonna have Crab-Chella at the Fire Crab. Goes great with our Fire Sauce but of course, if you would like to add a different flavor, you sure can, like Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper, or just straight up Cajun. Any way, you can't go wrong. No 3-day pass necessary and parking is a breeze, most of the time.
Ask and you shall receive! We, at the Fire Crab, try our best to do what we need to keep our customers happy. Well, many of you have told us that the bread we offer is awesome for dipping in our Cajun sauce but that you would like to upgrade the bread to Garlic Bread. So bam! There you go. You now have the option of getting Garlic Bread with your Cajun Seafood Combos. Wow! That's a lot of flavor and now, you can really sop up all the sauce after you eat up all that seafood.
The Fire Crab has recently updated our menu and we have new combos available! Everybody loves our Crab Bucket which consists of 1 lb of King Crab Legs, 1 lb of Snow Crab Legs, 1 lb of seafood of your choice (crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels), and sausages, potatoes, and corn. Well, we've added 2 more combos where you can pick either 1 lb of King Crab Legs, 1 lb of Snow Crab Legs, Dungeness Crab, or Lobster and then choose 2 or 3 lbs of your favorite seafood (crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels), which also comes with sausages, corn, and potatoes. Yep, that's a lot to choose from, especially if you love crab legs, crab, or lobster.
That's right. We don't shuck them till you order them. Our variety changes almost every week so be sure to check out our oysters menu whenever you do come in. Currently, we have Kumamoto, Blue Point, Bald Point, and Calm Cove. Take your pick! Get a dozen of any or even half a dozen. If you can't decide, we also have a sampler available both in half a dozen or in a dozen. We also check to see if each and every oyster is fresh before we serve them. We hate getting bad oysters, too, so we make sure you don't get any.
Looks like another cold and wet weekend here in the OC. Well, what better way than to warm up with a nice, piping hot bowl of our very own homemade gumbo! It comes with shrimp, okra, veggies, meat, and a bunch of other goodies. And you also have the option of a scoop of white rice on top, like the one pictured. If you're trying to cut down on carbs, then by all means, please request no rice. Either way, you won't be disappointed because it's hearty, warm, and delicious. It's perfect for this weather. Come on in and we'll warm you up.
Even though we have 4 beers on tap and quite a few options for bottled beers, sometimes, you just want to have some sake. They are 375 mL bottles so they're not too big or intimidating. We think they're the perfect size for 2 people to share. We have three different flavors on hand: White Peach, Fuji Apple, and Lychee. Of course, they go great with our Cajun Seafood Combos and all of our awesome appetizers. Swing on by and get a bottle today, if you're tired of your usual drink.
Finally we get some rain! Woohoo! Too bad the freeways get all crazy as soon as some rain drops start to fall. Anyway, it's pouring inside the Fire Crab, too! Yes, we're always pouring our sauces all over our seafood combos, especially our crawfish! Come on in and take advantage of our live crawfish inventory while we still have them in stock! Stay dry out there and come on in. But for goodness sake, please drive carefully.
We always have 8 types of fries available every day and every one has their favorites. One of our favorites is our Sweet Potato Fries They're unlike typical fries because they're sweeter, just as the name insinuates. Our other type of fries include regular French Fries. Salt & Vinegar, Cajun, Cajun Garlic, Cheddar, Sour Cream & Onion, and our Cajun Chili Fries. Fries and drinks should always be the first thing you order when you come in to dine with us. It's just the right thing to do.
We know not everyone observes lent but for those of you who do, be aware that the Fire Crab's menu is most definitely lent-friendly. With the exception of sausages and our chicken wings, just about everything else on our menu is Vatican-approved for lent. So swing on by for meatless Fridays or if you gave up meat for lent, swing on by any time. And for those of you who don't observe lent, well, just come on by. We don't discriminate and think you're going to hell because you don't observe lent.
We have developed a special blend of spices and batter for our fried calamari that you're sure to love! Easily one of our most popular appetizers, it's a great way to start out your seafood feast with us. We also have spicy garlic edamame, dynamite bread, deep fried oysters, and three different types of wings (cajun, honey bbq, fish sauce). You should probably try them all out to see what you like best but we're pretty sure you'll love everything.
Valentine's Day is on a Wednesday this year and we want to help you get in the mood with oysters all day long. That's right. February 14th. It's all the makings of a romantic Valentine's Day for us. Eating oysters and then eating a Cajun seafood combo with our hands. Sounds like heaven. Be sure to swing on by. Dates, however, are not mandatory.
